We had a really lovely stay overall, and the staff were a huge highlight. Shannon on reception was absolutely fantastic — genuinely friendly, highly professional, and she kindly upgraded our room, which made a big difference to our stay. She really set the tone from the moment we arrived and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room itself was lovely — clean, comfortable, and well presented. Alex at breakfast was a real standout — incredibly welcoming, attentive, and full of knowledge. He remembered everything and made breakfast feel relaxed and well looked after. Paul on the bar was also great, providing friendly service and being genuinely good to chat with. The only let-down was the food at both dinner and breakfast. Dinner in particular felt quite expensive for what was offered, and the quality didn’t really match the price.

Enjoyed a lovely morning spent at the Castle Inn in the lounge, with great company, great service and even better coffee. Superb experience, in the newly refurbished hotel which I anticipate being a thriving hub for us neighbours and other locals. Thank you to all the front of house staff, especially Hannah who looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Excited to see all the progress being made and will definitely be returning more often. Lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Our party of 3 arrived for a 2 night 'galentines' stay and we were smitten from the first interaction with the lovely lady on Reception (sorry we didn't get her name, dark hair, pony tail). So helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Similar interactions and great customer service from (Lee?) running the dining room day and night, what a worker! Just lovely. And Jamie on Reception too, thank you to all. The staff really should applauded and appreciated for being the main asset to this lovely place. The hotel is a home from home, beautiful spotlessly clean, comfortable room, beds, bathroom etc. Loved the pool and spa and compliments to the chef, we experienced 2 breakfasts and evening meals all of which were superb and good value for money. But for us the icing on the cake was the residents lounge with its relaxing atmosphere, comfy sofas, reading material and beautiful cosy log burner. We will all definitely be back. Book directly if you can because they always have great offers available and a price match policy. A totally hidden gem of a place in stunning surroundings. Thank you to all at Castle Inn

Had a lovely stay. First impressions matter and our greeting from the lovely polite young man on reception (dark curly hair, sorry as I’m terrible with remembering names!) set the tone for an excellent stay. He is a credit to the hotel and could not do enough to help. Dining staff also great and we enjoyed the breakfast. Didn’t use pool as it was too busy unfortunately and was smaller than it looks on the website. Despite the rain we enjoyed exploring Keswick nearby. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks to all the staff for a fab time!

Stayed here for two nights for Valentines weekend. The room and food were great. The staff were really friendly too. Nothing we asked was too much trouble. Thank you, we can't wait to go back again later on in the year. This hotel comes highly recommended.

We had a really lovely stay here and were genuinely impressed by the whole experience. The location is beautiful and peaceful, which made it a perfect place to unwind. The staff were incredibly nice, friendly, and very accommodating , they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The facilities were spotless, well maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was also great, with a nice selection and everything tasting fresh. My Partner and I Had a lovely stay here for a night with our baby son. The staff were very polite and accommodating during our stay and were able to provide a cot to the room . Everything in the room was clean, nicely presented and had everything needed. Situated in an excellent place for views of the fells - Skiddaw and ullock pike, The views from the room were excellent and sunrise and sunsets were a spectacle. The pool and spa area was great. The tavern, the food and the service were faultless and the experience was generally just a hassle-free and needed getaway. The Only minor criticism was a few bits of the hotel were a bit dated and in need of renovation but by no means shabby or dirty.
